Why I created Sala 85
My story
I moved to Madrid to study 16 years ago.
While a lot has changed since then, the challenges remain surprisingly familiar: paperwork, housing, language, and culture.
Over the years, friends and families began reaching out asking about housing, paperwork, or how life in Madrid really works.

What started as a few friendly calls turned into a clear pattern: many students face the same challenges I once did, and their parents just want someone they can trust locally.
That’s how Sala 85 was born.

Why families trust me
I’ve been in Spain for sixteen years.
That means I’ve dealt with all types of visas and NIE appointments, and navigated landlord contracts and bureaucracy that makes no sense even when you speak perfect Spanish. I’ve moved houses eight times. I know what to look for in a lease and what should make you walk away.
For years, friends have asked me to check apartments for their kids, explain what’s in the contract, or help when something goes wrong. I did it informally because I knew what it was like to figure out Madrid alone.
I’ve turned that knowledge into Sala 85 with clear systems, trusted contacts, and the operational experience I built while growing a regional brand and finishing my MBA at IE.
